The frog suit, as a combat uniform, was first put into practice in the Iraq War in 2003. There are a large number of deserts in Iraq, and the temperature is hot. While American soldiers still need to carry heavy loads on the battlefield, including bulletproof vests. At that time, combat clothes made of nylon cotton blended fabric became a burden.

Faced with this situation, some marines bought polyester fiber T-shirts or outdoor sports sweatshirts to wear. Although the problem of heat dissipation was solved, the sports T-shirts were easily ignited due to the frequent roadside bomb IED attacks, causing more serious secondary injuries!

To solve the dual problem of heat dissipation and fire prevention, the Equipment Research and Development Center of the Marine Corps Command, inspired by the fact that battlefield soldiers meet different needs by splicing clothing made of different fabrics, launched a new type of combat suit with sweat-wicking and flame retardant function Flame Resistant Operational Gear (FROG). The abbreviation is the same as the English frog, so it is called frog costume.

In order to match the bulletproof vest, the trunk part uses breathable materials, and the sleeve part uses fire-resistant materials. It is comfortable to wear as a whole, which has won the praise of many soldiers.
